Call for Visual Artists — Missy Lane’s Block Party Poster Design Contest

Missy Lane’s Block Party is all about music, culture, and community — and we want your creativity to shape the look of our 2026 event! We’re inviting students from grade school through college to participate in our Poster Design Contest and imagine the official visual identity for next year’s block party.
This is your chance to have your art seen by thousands and become part of Durham’s cultural history.
Contest Prompt
Create and imagine the poster design for Missy Lane’s Block Party 2026.
Your design should capture the spirit of the event — live music, community joy, cultural pride, and downtown Durham energy.
Who Can Enter
Open to students K–12 and college/university (including community colleges and art schools)
Artists of all skill levels are welcome
Prizes
Winning design will be featured as the official poster for the 2026 Block Party
Artist credit on all uses of the poster
A prize package (details to be announced)
Public recognition during the 2025 Block Party
Submission Details
Artwork can be digital or hand-drawn (final file must be provided in high-resolution format)
Must include space for event details (date, location, headliners) — these will be added after selection

Your poster design (JPEG or PDF preferred)
A short statement about your inspiration
